I was contacted by Kay who wanted a website for her new business, an Indian cookery school, along with a business email address, a logo and social media accounts.
During our first Skype session, we looked at possible logos together, and discussed the social media channels that Kay wanted setting up.
Following the Skype session, I set up Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts for Kay, and worked on the logo design. I was then able to pass a design brief onto the graphic designer, Patrick Hawkins, who created a stacked version and a horizontal version.
Kay then had a photoshoot and obtained some fantastic photos to use on her website:
When we first started on the website build, we chose Wix because of the design flexibility it affords, but once we started uploading Kay's photos, we weren't 100% happy with the way it looked, so I suggested Squarespace.
Squarespace templates work particularly well if you have great photos, so it was a good fit with Kay's content, and we were able to move quickly ahead with the website build.
I added a calendar of forthcoming classes and a blog, and Kay sent over content for me to add.
I also set up an Eventbrite account and added all Kay's classes to that.
I now update the site for Kay when she wants to add new classes, testimonials, etc.
