I've been working with Becky Pearson since 2012 when she was chief executive of Community Foster Care (which is still one of my clients).
When she moved to Norway in 2014, I created a catsitting website for her, and when she returned to the UK, I set up a website for her consultancy business. Both these websites were built using Weebly.
Becky recently contacted me because she had set up a new business - Becky's Bakeri - a Norwegian bakery. We decided to use Wix instead of Weebly, because it gave us more design flexibility.
Becky originally wanted a red and blue colour scheme to tie in with the colours of the Norwegian flag. However, we eventually leaned towards a more minimalist Scandi design, as we felt the photos would bring plenty of colour to the site.
I created the logo in Photoshop, using an icon of a cinnamon bun and a minimalist font.
I then used a Wix template as a starting point for the website. Once we'd agreed the structure, Backy set about drafting copy, taking photos of her baked goods, collating information on future events she would be attending and writing blog posts, which I then uploaded.
I also designed Becky's business cards - using moo.com; set up a Facebook page and Google My Business listing, and tidied up Becky's Instagram page.
I then provided Becky with written instructions so she can update the blog and events calendar herself.
